Mayor Gene Maxwell can be seen in attendance at his Midnite Market store located on MainStreet in Hopkins, Minnesota, celebrating it's 30th Anniversay. In the photo with 4 people, he will be the person on the right. Looks like he is enjoying the beautiful day along with a few friends and a part of the showing of the Nascar which was started at 5 P.M to allow the attendees to hear the sound of the race car. Mayor Maxwell's Midnite Market is one of the backbones of business in the little community surrounding it and you can see customers regularly coming and going. The surrounding community consists of quite a few rental complexs and rental buildings. Midnite Market has a very friendly atmosphere and seldom is there a long wait for service even though there is a constant flow of customers. Not only could you see the race car, but they had brought a racing simulator for attendees to use to get the 'feel' of what a race car feels like when driven. People were steadily coming and going. A small band was playing. The selling of small foods in stands was also evident. In speaking with the representative for Kevin Harvick, we learned that if you want an ultimate experience in the racing world, that actual rides in a real race car are arranged by visiting their website and doing so. You may arrange for an hour or two but he reported that the best experience, is the one where you ride all day.
